‘A country’s greatness lies in its undying ideals of love and sacrifice’

Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent India. This day reminds us of all the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters in order to gain Independence from the colonial rule.
Celebrating 75th ‘Independence Day’, students and teachers at New Era Public School, Dwarka dipped in the patriotic fervor and commemorated the glorious history of India and the struggles to attain freedom. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by our Chairperson, Mrs. Usha Chopra and our Director, Mr. Rohit Chopra while all the students and teachers sang the national anthem together which was awe-inspiring. The spirit was heightened by the day witnessing an array of performances showcased by the students. The school choir floored one and all with the melodious song— ‘Amrit Mahotsav Azadi ka.’ Students of the primary wing enlightened us with the contributions of some unsung heroes like Birsa Munda, Kanak Lata Barua and Tulsi Gowda. A heart-felt Hindi poetry left everyone mesmerized and the electrifying dance performance by the senior students left the spectators fascinated. Our Chairperson, Mrs. Usha Chopra and our Director, Mr. Rohit Chopra addressed the large gathering of students and teachers and enlightened everyone with their wise words. The celebration concluded with the school choir singing the school song – ‘Ham hain New Era’. Everyone not only observed splendid presentations which instilled in them the feeling of patriotism but also became aware of the many accomplishments of the country and the many vices we need to overcome in order to prove our mettle in diverse arenas ahead.
