Constitution Day also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’, is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26th January 1950.

As a part of the celebrations, our school’s GK and Heritage Club for classes IX to XI,I planned innovative activities to highlight and reiterate the values and principles enshrined in the constitution and to mark the importance of constitution adoption.

To instil the feeling of nationalism amongst the students, we began the celebrations with reading of the Preamble and reaffirming our commitment to uphold it.

The students were then shown a video of the constituent assembly debates which was followed up with discussions and an interactive quiz. They were informed regarding the various sites they can visit and find out more information regarding the constitution, assembly debates, members of the assembly, schedules of the constitution, etc.

New Era Public School, Dwarka firmly believes in the values and ideals of the constitution and aims to reiterate the same through its curricular and co-curricular activities by making students, informed and vigilant citizens.
