Bird Conservation Workshop

A bird conservation workshop for classes VI to VIII was conducted at New Era Public School, Dwarka on 11th February, 2020 by Eco Roots foundation, which works under the canopy of the sparrow man of India, Mr.  Rakesh Khatri. Students from the aforementioned classes were divided into ten groups and given eco-friendly material to build nests for sparrows. The resource person, Mr. Rakesh Khatri along with his team taught the art of nest making to the students and inspired them to learn more about the importance of sparrow conservation. The one hour long workshop not only gave 10 beautiful handmade natural nests for sparrows to the students, but also encouraged them to do their bit for beings they share their Earth with.

    Adventure Camp at Camp Tikkling, Gurugram


    Adventure camp is a day camp that offers a welcoming, lively, safe, positive and diverse environment, where children gain confidence and build self esteem.

    A fun filled adventure camp was organized at Camp Tikkling, Gurugram in collaboration with Rocksport on 7th February 2020 for grades LKG to VIII. The camp exposed students to a variety of challenging and exciting activities, which included Zip- Line, Swinging bridge, Commando Crawl, Camel cart ride, Rope ladder climbing, Body Zorbing, Laser beam, Tractor ride, Balance beam, Vertical ladder,  Tug of war, magical maze etc. These activities helped to strengthen team work among the students and gave them a feel of personal accomplishment.

    The students were full of zeal with high energy levels and enthusiasm during the camp.

    The little ones managed to complete all activities, without fear, and showcased immense confidence and courage. The activities not only provided a sense of thrill and excitement, but also helped the students to imbibe some essential life skills like decision-making, leadership qualities and critical thinking. Their excitement knew no bounds, as the day ended with DJ music that had students dancing in glee.

    Finally, the day was indeed well spent and the campers made happy memories to cherish for life.

      Chrysalis Day for Classes VI to IX

      Chrysalis Day was organized on 5th February, 2020 for classes VI to IX in the senior computer lab of the school. It was presided by the Director - Mr. Rohit Chopra and Principal – Ms. Kanwal Kohli.

       Ms Savithri from Chrysalis also graced the occasion.

      Classes VI to IX  showcased their technical and creative  skills through their projects on a variety of topics like Christmas Carnival, Comic Caper, Chess Board, Rocket Model, Gadgets and Gizmos, Air Pollution and Concept Cars, using software like GIMP, Blender, PHP, HTML and CSS.

      The students prepared the projects in school and presented them with enthusiasm, focusing on the creativity, originality and technical details.

      Both, the Director and the Principal, motivated the students to hone their IT skills in conjunction with the latest technologies.

      Ms. Savithri from Chrysalis was extremely happy with the technical skills displayed by the students.  

      The event depicted the teamwork and collaborative technical skills of all participants.

        CAN SUPPORT WALK

         

        The 13th Can Support Walk was organized at Rajpath on 2nd  February ,2020. Walk for Life - stride against Cancer, a Can Support initiative, an annual walkathon, started in 2008. Its aim is to raise awareness about the rising incidence of cancer and to support people suffering from cancer.

        Students from classes VI to XI of New Era Public School, Dwarka , along with the entire staff, participated enthusiastically in this event and supported it not only with monetary funds but also with their presence at Rajpath,  joining the volunteers, cancer survivors, and other well –wishers. The students showed solidarity with those suffering from cancer and their care-givers.

        Wearing the T-shirts with the Can Support logo and upholding the school banner, the students walked hand in hand with the teachers, raising slogans and cheering the  patients and cancer survivors present at the event.

        Special features like -  The Lap of Honour, Memory Wall, and Remembrance Tree, made the event even more special. The gathering of a caring community in full public view conveyed the message that this is an effort to break the stigma around cancer.
