New Era Public School, Dwarka organised a trip to Shimla, Chail and Kufri just after the mid-term examinations between 25th and 30th September. The AC bus, fully packed with students and teachers headed for Hail Himalayas Adventure Camp in Chail. The students were extremely excited to reach the destination. All the students kept singing songs in the bus till they reached the venue.


Students and teachers were welcomed by the guides at Hail Himalaya. They

were served breakfast of idli chutney, poha, and paranthas, toasts and scrambled eggs. Students were given important information about the flora and fauna of the region and instructions on how to stay in the tent. All students and teachers took part in various adventure activities at the camp like rappelling, zip lining, ropes course, swings and trampoline. After the activities they all had a delicious lunch and took rest for some time. In the evening DJ Dance around the bonfire was organised followed by an elaborate dinner at night. 


On the next day, the group of students and teachers went for riverside trekking. The group walked a stretch of 3 kms along the river near the campsite and were mesmerized by the breathtaking natural beauty of the region.


After breakfast the group left for Shimla and reached Hotel Royal Regency in the afternoon. In the evening, the group went to the mall road where students had a lot of fun.


The next day was full of enjoyment with a visit to the zoo in Kufri where students spotted the tiger, deers, a variety of pheasants, parakeets and bears. Students had their favourite Maggi and bhel puri in the beautiful weather of Kufri and took pictures with the famous Himalayan Yalk around the gorgeous green mountains. After this, the group headed to the hotel for lunch followed by an antakshari session in which all the students and teachers participated. It was a fun-filled experience for all. In the evening, DJ party followed by dumb charades was organised, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. 


The next morning on 30th September, our buses started homeward journey at about 10 am. At about 10 p.m. the buses entered the school campus. The parents had already been waiting for their children. Everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had had a great fun.

    CBSE Capacity Building Workshop – Life skills

    A workshop on Capacity Building Programme on Life Skills was organised on 27th September, 2019 at New Era Public School, Dwarka for the teachers so that they can impart the same to students and enable them to confront the world.
    This workshop was an initiative by CBSE and was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Munjal, a resource person from CBSE. Thirty one participants from well-known CBSE schools took part in the day-long session to learn about various ways and techniques of developing and enhancing life skills among students across all age groups.

    The workshop focused on developing skills like self- awareness, assertiveness, empathy, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, effective communication, coping with stress, decision making etc. In a nutshell life skills would ensure holistic development of a child.

    The objective to be achieved, as per CBSE, by conducting this workshop, was to make teachers well equipped with knowledge that can help them manage and deal with innumerable (small or big) instances happening inside/outside the classrooms. The workshop not only made the teachers more sensitive and understanding towards students, but also helped in imbibing life skills in their teaching style so that children of today get education that adds value to their personality as a whole.

      Counselling Session for Classes X to XII

      Ashoka University organised a counselling session for the students of Classes X-XII on liberal education on 25th September 2019 at New Era Public School Dwarka. Mr. Vikram Bawa, Director (Outreach) from Ashoka University enlightened the students on various options available for the students for higher education and the admission process for the same. 

        Inter-house Science Quiz Competition


        An inter-house science quiz competition was held on 24th September, 2019 for Classes I to V. There were 8 rounds, 4 rounds for Classes I-III and 4 rounds for Classes III-V. The questions asked were based on general science. All the participants and audience participated enthusiastically.


        The result was as follows:

        Sam Veda bagged the first position with 12 points.

        Atharv Veda stood second with 10 points.

        Yajur Veda was third with 9 points

        Rig Veda was at fourth position with 8 points.

          Visit to Post Office

          Visits to different places develop a sense of awareness among children.

          To help the children know about the post office and it's functioning the children were taken to a Post Office at Sector- 6, Dwarka on 20th September, 2019. The children were excited to see the letter box and postman. The postman told them how they deliver the letters and parcels. The kids enjoyed their visit.

            Show and Tell Activity

            Show and Tell Activity was conducted on 17.09.2019 for the students of LKG and UKG to strengthen the verbal skills and to foster public speaking competency of the young minds.The theme of the activity was "My favourite bird" .The little ones were excited to share their descriptive narration and waited eagerly for their turn to show and tell. It was an enriching experience for the students to learn about different birds from their friends.
              Cooking Corner Activity

              Cooking with kids is always full of fun  and it encourages children to make healthier food choices. They imagine the food they have cooked in appetizing scenarios, which tends to encourage them to try eating that food in real life as well. The children of LKG and UKG had cooking corner activity on 9th September,  2019. The children made nests with boiled potatoes, bhujia and makhana. They enjoyed making the nest by making balls of mashed potatoes and then covering them with namkeen bhujia and then placing one makhana at the top as egg. 


                As a part of community outreach programme of the school and the SEWA Project, the students of class IX of New Era Public School, Dwarka exhibited their concern for a Clean India through a Nukkad Naatak (Street Play) in and around the vicinity of Pochanpur village in Dwarka.

                On 4th of September these youngsters set out with zeal and enthusiasm and took upon themselves to spread awareness regarding a green and clean India. With the beating of drums , the students attracted the residents of the village. In no time a huge crowd had gathered to witness the play and the students through their charismatic act spread the awareness regarding cleanliness, importance of planting trees and as to how water can be conserved. They also gave tips on how kitchen waste should be segregated into green and blue dustbins.

                The students were able to win the hearts of the audience with their performance. Relevant banners and placards were also used by the participants to get across to the crowd. The performance of the students was appreciated by one and all present. The students appealed that every citizen should join hands and contribute towards a cleaner and greener India.

                  New Era Public School celebrated Teacher’s day with great gusto and gaiety through a special assembly. The student council had taken up the responsibility of the whole scintillating cultural show to denote their love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development. The cultural show incorporated poems, songs and dance. The programme began with the rendition of Gayatri Mantra by the choir followed by a beautiful poem recital by a student of class X. What set an euphoric atmosphere was the foot tapping dance number by the students of class XI. It left everyone swaying to the musical tune of the dance number.

                   The students also presented creative self made cards with apt titles for the teachers. They  indicated that teachers play a vital role in making their pupil accountable citizens of tomorrow and wonderful human beings. They are the cornerstone of students’ future and there’s nothing worth enough to gratify them for their selfless service and commitment. All teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program..

                  Addressing the teachers on the occasion, Director Mr.Rohit Chopra extolled the role of teachers in a student’s life. Quoting the famous Saint Kabir’s doha, “Guru Govind dou khade, kaake lagu paye......”, he said that teachers are placed on a higher pedestal than God and that teachers show the way to seek God. He appreciated the cultural programme and also lauded the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal success and wished them a Happy Teacher’s Day!

                  Wishing the teachers of the occasion, Principal Ms Kanwal Kohli appreciated the sincerest efforts of the teachers in playing a catalytic role in the holistic development of every student and that without students, teachers would not have the privilege to call themselves as teachers. She also extended her gratitude towards the members of the Student Council for taking pains to put up a wonderful programme .

                  The programme concluded with the bestowal of badges of honour on the Students of the Month from class I to XII

                    A tree plantation drive was conducted in school premises on 2nd September 2019 by the NGO - Swechha. Students of class VIII  participated with great enthusiasm. Students were introduced to the concept of urban forest. Students planted 50 plants with great zeal in the school ground and converted a barren land into an urban forest.
